Company

Quality certifications

In order to obtain full customer satisfaction while respecting current legislation and contractual documents, Lynx undertakes to ensure that its company system meets the requirements of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 standard. In full compliance with the principle of the standard, Lynx is committed to pursuing ongoing improvement in order to meet customer needs: this entails optimization of the following processes:
  • Design
  • Planning
  • Development
Continuous control of the company process is ensured by the presence and updating of a Quality Management Manual (revised edition 04 of 13/05/2013), which governs all activities concerning the company’s system and products.

Expertise

Fields

To Lynx, "expertise" means approaching any challenge through an understanding of a customer’s business, processes and goals in order to offer the best solution in terms of time and costs. Lynx has significant expertise in all major areas of functions and applications thanks to its experience acquired with leading financial and industrial companies in Italy and Europe.

Sales Channels and Systems

In a market increasingly dominated by competition the only firms that are able to quickly adapt to sudden changes can hold fast: in this context it is important to know the channels that unbridled technology makes available to the market.

In this scenario, Lynx has embarked on a path of ongoing research into the most innovative technologies, which have enabled the company to be acknowledged today as one of the major players in the Mobile Application market.

Leading Italian banks and financial institutions have found a partner in Lynx that can support them in the functional area of sales processes (Commercial/CRM Platform), in running ATMs/Kiosks, and in integrating services related to trading channels (e.g. Internet Banking and branch ATMs).

Middle/Back Office

The back office, independent of the requirements of the front office and control systems, has acquired the right role of a "production line" for banking services. Hence, the aim is to make processes more efficient and limit costs.

Lynx is the ideal partner for projects intended to optimize processes and applications used in the Middle/Back Office: post-trading platforms, Cash Management systems, systems for monitoring balancing/reconciliation processes.

In the field of Business Intelligence (Reporting, DWH, ETL etc.), Lynx has longstanding experience of the most common platforms (SAS, BO, Cognos etc.), with end-to-end activities that range from assessment to maintenance/development management of systems.

Another field of increasing interest in the Utilities sector is telemanagement of contactors, metering and mobility. With know-how acquired through creating complete and innovative solutions to support its customers in the Utilities sector, Lynx is the ideal partner for addressing business opportunities empowered by new emerging technologies.

Lynx solutions can be applied to many contexts. They allow customers (banks, SIM, insurance companies, utilities etc.) to concentrate specifically on front office activities and innovative services with higher value-added features.

Electronic Banking/Payments

The payment field, one of the traditional banking areas, is among the most subject to technological and business innovation. With regard to the management of payment cards, Italy still lags behind compared to other countries: this can be seen in the need to manage projects requiring significant revision of Card Management, also covering more innovative areas such as Mobile Payment.

Major banking institutions have resorted to assistance from Lynx for their development and adaptation to the provisions of international standards, also thanks to the considerable experience Lynx professional staff have acquired on the main market platforms (SEPA and Swift).

Lynx is also a longstanding partner as a system integrator for leading manufacturers of ATMs, as well as a point of reference in the Issuing (Card Management) and Acquiring field, working on specific verticalization and functional consulting.

System integration

With the spread of distributed systems, the asynchronous exchange of information between applications with different methods and protocols has acquired fundamental importance. The aim is to facilitate the integration of various applications on different platforms, separating the interlocutors.

Lynx has considerable experience in the field of integration platforms and is a partner for leading banking institutions on issues such as "classic" EAI (e.g. payment flows, DWH feeding and transactional systems), SOA architectures (e.g. verticalizations on specific ESB and SOA governance) and multi-channel systems.

Expertise

Technologies

Lynx considers technology a means of meeting the needs of its customers and creating value within the company. For this reason, we believe that there is no best technology but only that most suited to finding an effective solution. Our technological expertise therefore covers the main areas of development, through the use of programming languages and the most widely used and internationally certified DBMS.

Open

Given the broad range of solutions we offer and the special attention customers give to limiting costs, Lynx focuses on using Open Source technologies.

For each project, Lynx takes into consideration not only technical aspects but also the state of Open Source and the community that takes care of development. All this is done without overlooking the details and nuances of the various licences (GNU, GPL etc.).

For each project, Lynx takes into consideration not only technical aspects but also the state of Open Source and the community that takes care of development. All this is done without overlooking the details and nuances of the various licences (GNU, GPL etc.).

Mobile Technology

The impact of mobile devices on the market has forced software houses to adapt not only to new products but also to a new approach to development: where the Web imposed vaguer standards, the mobile area has obliged companies to make their products functional, as well as usable, accessible and essential.

The need has therefore arisen for individuals, at all company levels, to take care of application details in more depth. In the development process, cognitive psychology specialists, interface experts and other professional figures, who in the past were involved in production processes of much larger contexts than the "simple" Web portal, are useful.

The Lynx Mobile Team was created from these requisites as a centre of innovation/expertise for the development of Apps optimized for both devices and user experience. Future projects will run along the very same path, continuing to improve without ever losing sight of the main goal: to satisfy users and allow them to use contents that are complete but also essential, functional but usable.

Microsoft

Lynx provides services based on Microsoft technologies in a variety of functional contexts.

In-depth knowledge of the .NET framework and its main languages is the outcome of a commitment that has always seen Lynx involved in complex projects with Microsoft technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, WCF and WPF).

The use of SQLServer in its developments has allowed the design of complex databases and DWH. Reporting and ETL are the issues addressed using SQLServer not only as a Database Engine but also exploiting the potential offered by Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS) and Reporting Services (SSRS).

While focusing its activities on the latest Microsoft technologies (App Windows 8), Lynx continues to support its customers in less modern environments such as systems developed on VB6.

Mainframe

In order to provide customers with an all-round service, Lynx has not abandoned the more traditional technologies but continuously exploits its wealth of knowledge in order to develop the management applications of central systems.

In this context, Lynx’s expertise ranges from the most well-established operating systems (MVS and OS/400 on all) to the languages for which there is still a large installed base (Cobol and RPG). These are accompanied by in-depth knowledge of databases (DB2), indexed data architectures (Vsam) and traditional TP monitors (CICS and IMS).

The offer is made complete with knowledge of gateway (CTG on all), which allows perfect integration of the mainframe in the most modern JEE and .NET contexts.

Expertise

Partnership

Lynx ensures that its offer (Projects, AM/Outsourcing and Consulting) is in line with "cross technology", thanks to certifications and partnerships with major SW Vendors, with which Lynx has a longstanding partnership. Lynx’s expertise has also led to the creation of a large number of "out-of the-box" tools that can be applied to many projects in order to facilitate the achievement of customer goals.

Consulting

Lynx offers itself as a consulting partner for functional, application-related and architectural solutions. In addition, Lynx performs assessment activities so that its customers can make decisions in line with their business goals. The starting point is the customer’s need to embark on a path of development that will adequately respond to changing business conditions. As always, the consulting service provided by Lynx relies on independence, with the awareness of the fact that there are no ready-made solutions. In fact, it is often necessary to explore several development scenarios and choose the one that best suits customers’ needs in terms of costs and time.
