System integration, industry and people at the heart of Alfa Sistemi’s new journey within the Lynx Group
In this interview, Ferruccio Meroi, President of Alfa Sistemi, discusses Alfa Sistemi’s identity, the expertise the company has developed in the manufacturing sector, and the opportunities created by joining the Lynx Group, from technological complementarity and international growth to new areas of development.
Alfa Sistemi is a company with a long-standing history and strong specialization in the industrial sector. What are the elements that best represent the company’s identity today and the value you bring to your clients?
“Alfa Sistemi’s identity can be summed up in its ability to deliver true system integration. For us, this means designing and implementing solutions that create value for the client by integrating existing technologies and components with new solutions and enabling them to work together effectively. Our goal is not to sell a product or a service, but to address real needs through integrated solutions.
What sets us apart is our focus on clients and people. We always put people at the heart of our work and strongly believe in being close to our clients, not so much in geographical terms as in cultural ones. Understanding the context in which they operate and working together with enthusiasm allows us to build long-lasting relationships and develop high-value projects.”
Alfa Sistemi’s entry into the Lynx Group stems from a strong complementarity of skills and expertise. From your perspective, what are the main opportunities this operation opens up for both Alfa Sistemi and the Group?
“Complementarity is probably the word that best describes this operation. The opportunities mainly develop across three dimensions.
The first concerns technology. Alfa Sistemi and Lynx bring different areas of expertise which, when combined, make it possible to offer a much broader and more comprehensive portfolio of solutions.
The second concerns industry specialization. Alfa Sistemi has an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing sector and industrial processes, a wealth of expertise that integrates perfectly with that of the Group.
Finally, there is strong complementarity in terms of market presence and geographical coverage. By combining our respective experience and geographic reach, we can be even closer to our clients and pursue new growth opportunities.”
Alfa Sistemi brings established expertise in ERP, system integration and solutions for industry. What do you consider to be your key distinctive strengths, and how can they contribute to enriching the Group’s offering?
“Our main strength is our knowledge of industrial processes, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Over the years, we have gained significant experience in developing solutions for companies operating in multinational environments, supporting their growth both in Italy and abroad.
This is complemented by our well-established expertise in system integration and digital manufacturing solutions, which enables us to support companies in integrating management systems, production processes and factory technologies.”
Alfa Sistemi’s growth journey also includes the acquisition of Tempestive, a company specializing in digital manufacturing solutions. How does this integration strengthen your positioning and your ability to support industrial clients through digital transformation?
“The integration with Tempestive represents a natural evolution of our journey. It allows us to complete our offering by complementing ERP and management systems with solutions dedicated to the factory and digital manufacturing.
In this way, we can support clients throughout their entire digital transformation journey, offering an integrated vision that starts with business management and extends all the way to production processes.”
In the acquisition announcement, you emphasized the importance of continuity and shared values. Which aspects of Alfa Sistemi’s corporate culture do you want to preserve and enhance as part of this new journey?
“There are values that we consider fundamental and that we want to preserve. The first is our focus on people, which applies not only to our employees, but also to clients, suppliers and all the stakeholders we work with every day.
At the same time, we want to maintain a strong connection with the local communities in which we operate. We believe that a company should not focus solely on economic results, but should also contribute to creating value for the community by redistributing wealth, promoting culture and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.”
Looking ahead to the coming months, what will Alfa Sistemi’s priorities be within the Lynx Group? Are there any collaborations, synergies or areas of development you intend to focus on from the outset?
“Our priorities are very clear and follow two main directions. The first is geographical expansion, with the aim of further strengthening our international presence, particularly in the Americas and Asia.
The second is the continued development of our technology offering. We will continue to invest in our Oracle expertise while expanding our portfolio to include other leading technologies in the market, such as SAP, in order to provide clients with an increasingly comprehensive offering capable of meeting a wide range of digital transformation needs.”
